This was week 3 of our chronological walk through the Bible in the Men's class.
We focused on Exodus - yes - watch the movie with Charlton Heston. The devotional portion focused on knowing that God can do anything with a willing heart.
This was week 2 of our chronological walk through the Bible in the Men's class.
We focused on Genesis 12-50 - the time period known as the Patriarchs (Abraham to Moses).
The devotional portion focused on the importance of one decision (Abrams' relationship with Hagar that produced Ishmael).
For the next twelve weeks, we'll be going through the Bible chronologically. Each week will feature a time period, the corresponding book in the Bible, some theology and a weekly lesson from history.
Today's topic: What makes somenthing a "church ministry"?
This is a great quesiton. There are so many "good" things out there... but what should we consider to support as a church?
Key Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42, Ephesians 4:1-11-16, 1 Peter 2:9
This week's question was:
"Why do so many people seem to forget about the Holy Spirit? We always speak of God and Jesus but often forget about the Holy Spirit."
Wow - what a great question. As Baptists, we may have swung the pendulum too far in the opposite direction of Charismatics/Vineyard folk... Either way, we don't know enough about the person of the Spirit (yes, He's a person), and the ministry of the Spirit in our lives.
Here's how we addressed the question:
We have combined the men's and ladies classes for 4 weeks of Q&A called "No Holds Barred".
This week we answered the questions:
We're doing Q&A in our combined men's and ladies' class for a few weeks... "No Holds Barred". Attached is the PDF for this week's question:
"What is the correct interpretation of Hebrews 6:4-6?"
